Wilpshire Riding Club Newsletter Spring 2011

It’s the time of year when we are deciding where we are going to compete in the coming season, and where Riding clubs are putting the final touches to the organizing of the shows etc, but unfortunately WRC was told at short notice that we could no longer hold our shows at Osbaldeston Riding Centre. This left us with a major dilemma, to fold and give up after 35yrs or to carry on and find a new venue.

So …. We have decided to carry on, WRC is going back to its roots!

We have very kindly been offered a venue in Darwen within easy access of all the main roads into Darwen and via the M65. Our new venue is Brocklehead Farm, Roman Rd, Darwen BB3 3PJ   .

We want to run Fun, Friendly, Family shows where children and families can compete and enjoy their ponies. Because of the short notice this season we will only be able to run 2 shows but these will both be Trophy shows.

Sun May 22^nd NCPA and Trophy Show and Sun Sept 11^th Caroline Booth memorial, and Trophy show.

Special Offer, Free Membership to all our existing members before 31/03/11. £10 for any new members, Reduced Entry Fees to £3 per class for Members £5 Non-Member.

If these shows are successful and supported then we will be able to run more shows next year possibly with the points system, and maybe Winter Shows etc.

We need your Ideas, suggestions and support!

New Fun Filled Schedule to follow ASAP

All Trophies won in 2010 MUST BE RETURNED by the usual dates, but not to Osbaldeston Riding Centre, please make arrangements to bring them to the shows or back to a committee member.

Here’s Hoping that we can keep Wilpshire Riding Club going for another 35yrs!!
